The 2013 National Scout Jamboree, Summit Bechtal Reserve, West Virginia
On July 15, 2013 at 9 o'clock p.m. Peter, Daniel, Ben, Eden, and Patrick got onto the tour bus to head down to the "Summit" as it is known. They set out for a 10 day trip to the newest high adventure base, and also the home for the Jamborees every four years. They were down their with about thirty thousand other scouts and Venter Crews from across the country. This is the first time in the history of the Boy Scouts of America that females were allowed to participate in any BSA activity. When they were down there they had to put their scouting skills to the test. Scouts had to walk from one place to the next with only what they needed for the day on their backs. The distance between activity stations was great, but it was worth it. I was there it was not bad. In the end it was a very rewarding experience in my life.
